Mindfulness Meditation Community Practice
Is it your new resolution to have less stress or be healthier? Try mindfulness meditation. Mindfulness has been shown in scientific studies to decrease stress and anxiety while increasing well-being and feelings of happiness. Mindfulness has also been linked to better sleep, increased immune function and improved concentration. With regular practice, mindfulness meditation has been shown to change the way our brains respond to emotional stimuli even when we're not meditating. Classes are 45 minutes. Free will donation.
In this course you will learn and practice: yoga postures which are accessible for every body, breath awareness, activating and calming breathing patterns, hand gestures and sounds which enhance your focus on the present moment, mindfulness meditation techniques that are accessible even to people who do not ever want to sit on a meditation cushion, and guided deep relaxation.
Tai Chi Qi Gong
Tai Chi Qigong Classes
Practice the ancient Chinese art of Tai Chi Qigong. Tai Chi, often described as "meditation in motion", is a martial art involving a flowing series of postures. These gentle exercises help balance a person's vital energy and fix energy blockages that can lead to disease. According to Mayo Clinic, 2.5 million Americans currently practice Tai Chi to promote better health and well-being. Tai Chi practitioners may experience many health benefits including better mood, more energy and increased muscle tone. Tuesdays, 5:15 - 6:30 p.m. Cost is $15.
Take a relaxing journey into a meditative soundscape of ancient eastern singing bowls with a soothing play of the gong. The sound of the gongs and bowls naturally place us in a state of meditation. The harmonic sound will guide us in and out of dream states, helping us quiet the mind and restore our vibrational balance. Suggested Donation: $20
